But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:17)

Death is biblically the absence of God's life or the end of life.

It can also be defined as the removal of God's life or presence (spirit) from mankind. Another definition is also, "the corruption of creation and the removal from its original place or removal of God's presence and influence from any creation".

In other words, if you have the life and the spirit of God you are not dead.

Bear in mind that there are the creation and formation aspects about the origin of man. In other words, man was created before he was formed.

The Hebrew word for create is "Bara", which means, to bring something into being out of nothing. Man came from God, he was created out of nothing by God.

The law of reproduction has it that every creature reproduces after its kind. God is a spirit (John 4:24), therefore by inference and logically, man is a spirit being. God formed man after creating him. The Hebrew word for form is "Yatzar", which means, to mould or squeeze something. Man was formed from the dust of the earth. God transported his life into man and he became a living being.

People can try to create or form a being but it would not be a living being. We are spirit beings and have the life of God. Anything that does not have the life of God is dead. It takes the life of God for any being formed to be alive.

Psalm 118:17

Dear Lord, I am grateful for your word today. I declare that I shall not die but will live to fulfill my purpose here on earth in Jesus' name. Amen.
