"Rejoice evermore. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16,18)

Thanksgiving is very important in our walk with the Lord. Setting aside time to give thanks for one's blessings, along with holding feasts to celebrate a harvest, are both practices that have been established in many cultures.
Others also set aside a day to give thanks to God for what He did for them at a particular time.

We are to give thanks to God not for everything but in everything. This means you have no choice to say that as for you, you cannot appreciate God. "In everything". In everything, means in all things. It's also the will of God concerning us. If you're in Christ then it's God's will to be thankful in all things. Our lives should be full of Thanksgiving.

When Jesus was informed about the death of Lazarus, who according to John 11Jesus loved dearly, the family of the deceased were astonished about Jesus’ response and attitude.
Jesus who believed that the situation was not hopeless and that Lazarus will rise again was not worried as the family relations and loved ones were.

Lazarus was buried and after four days according to the Jewish custom, the time or possibility of him coming back to life had elapsed. Jesus was taken to where he was buried and the crying and wailing of the people provoked Him and he instructed that the stone which covered the tomb be rolled away. (John 11:41)

Jesus' attitude is worth emulating. He didn't magnify the situation but first of all, gave thanks to God for hearing Him. He called Lazarus to come forth after giving thanks to God.

The name Jesus is exalted above every situation.
When you give thanks to God it indicates your confidence in Him. For God's word to work in your life, you've to work it out. How then? Change your attitude, change your mindset and change your confession. Glory be to God!
Thanksgiving is a key aspect of Christian maturity. Hallelujah!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful to You, I will always thank You and I am called to be thankful to You in every situation in Jesus' name.
